welp, gettin ready to get into it…
tomorrow it hits. back to school fun, as we embark on a 2 year journey towards nursedom. i know i post so frequently it will be hard to keep up the pace, so i hope you’ll understand if things slow down a bit here.
we’d appreciate your prayers and thoughts as we wade through this very new stage of life. thanks to all of you who are such a great support to us. we’re grateful for you.

- Need to take my shop vac up on my roof to try and extricate a dead bird from our vent so our toilet drains and doesn’t bubble.

home from Philly…
well, i’m back from a fun trip to phillly to help a good friend move his stuff. it was a fun time, had a great time with adam hochstetler. saw the city in about an hour, drove a huge truck and trailer around philly looking for uhaul dealerships, (iphone saved the day again), got reunited with some great folks and met a whole mess of other great folks, then hauled a 12 foot trailer behind our 24 foot truck through the mountains of pennsylvania (read stress). so i had my expected day of migraines yesterday. survived that, serious thanks to the Lord above who really does sustain our lives in more ways than we know.
now onto the summer. hard to believe we’ll be in Carolina Beach in 2 weeks!!! crazy, but i’m really looking forward to it, as are the kids and the wife.
so yeah, lots to get done this week, catch up on LT stuff, and get my act together as we head into the summer!
livin the dream, the last afternoon of steep deep….
well, i have 3 more hours of skiing left 
jayne is done and gonna get some pampering, then home tomorrow.

slopes day 2…
we’re getting ready to hit those slopes once again.
yesterday jayne had major boot issues, so after a few hours in the boot shop she’s in some new boots that feel great and we’re ready for an awesome day.
i’ve enjoyed going up to the village in the early am, getting a pastry and a nice mocha and reading in the am, so that’s been a relaxing and enjoyable thing for me.
we love our place, so many really nice features…. need to get this expresso machine working and the fireplace figured out, but other than that, awesome!
talked to the kids via ichat video this am, which was awesome, they’re lovin life with grandma and grandpa, so it was good to see 2 happy boys and some happy grandparents!

we made it!!!!
so here we are at Big White, 7″ of new snow over the past 2 days and getting ready to hit the slopes! i’m blogging so i don’t go stir crazy while Jayne preps for the big day!
this place is great though what a haul to get out here. we can see why Utah is such a draw! 1 flight and a 30 minute shuttle vs. 3 flights and a one and a half hour taxi ride!!
But we are here!!!! had a nice mocha and croissant for breakfast and am eager to hit the BIG MOUNTAIN!!!

so when you’re so unbelievably cool as to own an iphone (they’ve sold like 10 bizillion of em, so there’s at least that many cool folks out there) you can do hip stuff like this. i’m excited to post some pics from the beautiful mountains of Big White where we’ll be skiing from time to time, so if you care, feel free to refresh my flickr feed from time to time to see what kind of fun is going on out there. jayne has a fun little project up her sleeve while we’re out there too, which should be cool.

my folks will be comin in tomorrow, and then sunday we’re off!! BC here we come!!
catchin up…
so it’s been a while since the last post. my usual, write in spurts behavior.
our anniversary trip to British Columbia was awesome, great skiing, smooth travels, great food and above all, wonderful company. it really was refreshing to celebrate 10 years with my wonderful wife, who teaches me so much, challenges me with her big heart and keeps me connected to challenge to live the Kingdom right where we are.
so i’ve been pretty preoccupied over the past weeks getting ready for our Leadership Training Program out at Carolina Beach, NC this summer. our family will be out there for the startup of it all, which will be fun. it will be great to get to know some of the v-tech staff team and enjoy the beach with our kids and the crew that’s out there.
lots going through my brain of late, some of which i hope to get up here soon.
in some quick news:
- we had a recent scare with my dad and cancer, but he’s a-ok and all is looking good for him and the future, so that’s a relief.
- tommy is playing soccer which is fun, you can check out jayne’s blog for pics.
- we’re in finals week here, so things are winding down. great semester, always so good to look back on what the Lord has done over the past school year.
- i’m heading to Philly this weekend to help a friend load up a truck and move his family, should be a good trip.
- i’m re-motivated for our bathroom (thanks Nick) and hope to get that thing finished up this summer, but we’ve got a long ways to go.
