teleios.us

so i got some really fantastic and deep friends down in orlando and another great guy out in philly who besides just being great friends are all sharp as tacks. and that is sharp, btw. anyways, they turned me on to a very cool website/online community that i wasn’t even able to find a mission or vision or other common christian “about” type section for, but is very cool nonetheless. it’s worth a visit, has some very cool resources, and worthwhile conversation happening on.

that’s all, toodles.

oh yeah, teleios.us (click it)

here we go…

we had our first sunday service of the school year yesterday and it went really well i think. neil gave a great message about not dating the church, but committing to it. whether it’s us or someone else, don’t be a consumer, don’t just shop around and create the perfect combo meal. it was really good.

i’m excited for students to be back around. there’s more energy to be sure, and definitely more happening. part of me likes that, part of me wants to react against it.

anyways, i’m really hopeful and excited for what this fall holds in store. neil shared at our revo’s unite time on saturday about having an optimistic faith, which has stuck with me and i was reminded of as i read some stuff this morning and spent some time praying for some people. i read in mark 5 where Jairus’ daughter is sick, dies, and Jesus raises her, and in that same section, where the bleeding women touches Jesus’ cloak and is healed. i was struck that they didn’t just believe Jesus could heal, but they came and asked/acted with confidence that he would. that’s optimistic faith. faith that asks and acts. and that’s my prayer for us this fall, that we could ask and act with faith that God desires people to come to know Him and that He desires his children to go deeper with Him.

we’d certainly appreciate your prayers along those same lines. :) thanks!

they’re back…….

the day has come…

the time is now…

students have returned!!!

yup it’s that time of the year! students are back, in fact we helped move some in here just this morning.

it’s exciting to see activity on campus pick back up as folks come migrating back. i’m eager for another good year, and excited for what God has in store for us. we’ve definitely had some changing times over the past few years. we’ve dealt with several challenges, and for sure have come out better people. it’s been really hard at times, but i really believe that we’re well positioned and that God has taught us a lot through it all.

most of all i sense that we’re a church that is eager to follow Christ. eager to follow Him into whatever it would be that He would have for us. we want to seek him. we want to grow into a church that can honestly say we’re seeking out God’s heart. we want to be a church that prays, a church that really desires to see God do what’s important to Him through us, not us force our spiritual ideas and desires to the forefront.

anyways, it’s that time of year. i’m excited for a good one!

if you’re a ball state student or a revolutionary… i’ll see you around!

It’s been a while…

well, i am still alive and mostly well. it seems i’ve been on a bit of a hiatus from the ole blog of late, but with school kicking back in here soon, i need to get my act together.

been busy, making preparations for the fall. we’ve been able to purchase a new truck as a church here in the past few weeks which will make life so much nicer for all of our volunteers on sunday morning. we’re currently in the thick of readying carts to be used for sunday morning as well. i’ve spend the past couple weeks slaving over those with the joels on our staff team, working to prep those. it’s been a lot of fun, but a lot of sweat as well.

anyways, i’m pumped for the fall, excited to see what God has in store for us!

i’ll be back……
